The Iligan-Malacanang Connection

THE ILIGAN-MALACANANG CONNECTION:
The similarities:
-The seat of power in the country is Malacanang, the seat of hydro-electric power
in the country is in Iligan
-The Philippines has the longest Christmas in the world, Iligan has the longest
fiesta in the country
-The area code of Iligan is 63, the country code of the Philippines is 63
-The patron of Iligan is Michael the Archangel, the patron of Malacanang is the same
The differences:
-Iligan through the late Senator Tomas Cabili championed Federalism, Malacanang through
then President Manuel Quezon advocated a government of Unitarianism
It is for this reason why Senator Cabili (known as Sultan Dimasangkay in the
Maranao tribe) was the only Constitutional Convention delegate from the entire
country who did not signed the Constitution of 1935
Famous words of both men:
"Mr. President if you will provide a one people solution for a Tri-people
problem like Mindanao, if you will make this country be founded on the
principles of Unitarianism instead of Federalism-there will be war
in Mindanao."- Senator Tomas Cabili
"I would rather have a country run like hell by Filipinos than a country
run like heaven by the Americans, because however bad Filipino government
might be, we can always change it."
-President Manuel Quezon
Something to think about:
Do you know that Iligan is the only City in our country which has declared
a President of this Republic to be a "persona non-grata"? The President was Gloria
Macapagal-Arroyo (GMA). Surprisingly she is the only President of the Republic who traces
her roots from Iligan.
The one who issued the "persona non-grata" status was the City Council of Iligan.
As to Sendong:
We have a cardinal rule in insurance which says, "do not let your misfortune or the misfortune
of others become your fortune"..Iligan and Malacanang must listen...or else God/Allah will send
a stronger message than Sendong.....
And allow me to paraphrase Mother Teresa, "God did not call me to be successful,
He called me to be faithful" similarly God did not call me to be popular,
He called me to be righteous...
I rest my case in God/Allah......
