Fragmented Exodus
The painting chronicles the pains and sufferings of a family (and other families) of a mother and her child (or children) -who abandoned their home and escaped from the Marawi Siege. their exodus was unexpectedly unthinkable. They were bitterly displaced. They found shelter in a cramped evacuation center where they stayed for two years together with the other evacuees. In their hearts and minds, they hoped it would not happen

The canvas is coated with versatex, 4 X 3 in Oil. Painted without the emulsion so that it could pass the maximum age of a hundred years as I reread the criteria of the contest.

The canvas stretcher and frame is made by yours truly. (For I know everything through Christ who lives in me).
