Walay a Kalilintad
Baloi, Lanao del Norte

Most Reverend Bishop Edwin dela Pena, Fr Reverend Jovit Malinao, to our honored graduates, of the Walay a Kalilintad, Franciscan, Prelature of Marawi in Baloi, good morning. And also to the visitors, parents of the graduating class 2009-2010. Maayong buntag kanatong tanan. Maayong Baloi!

I am so happy to see you graduates --wearing your white dresses and cops in your head for the first time. Maybe your parents are so proud seeing you with your ayos today, the girls are well hairdoed, the boys are well-groomed and you are all beautiful and handsome to look at. Your parents have three more times to dress you like that so soon.

Two years ago, masayang masaya po ako na naimbita dito bilang media na magka-cover sa mga graduates na katulad niyo but I was in the last pew watching not just the graduates but all the people involved in the occasion. Today, I am here in front of you to give you an inspirational talk. Na ikinagalak ko pong magsasabi sa inyo na ang Walay a Kalilintad Prep-School is one of the kindergarten schools sa ating bansa na nag-uugnay ng tunay na Kaayusan at Kapayapaan sa iisang pook tulad nitong Baloi.

Ito lang po ang eskwelahana na if wala ko masayop na nag served ng example how we people can create and motivate a peaceful community. This is in fact the brainchild of our dear bishop, Most Reverend Bishop Edwin.

To the parents, sending your children here to Walay a Kalilintad is the Bishop dream to continue a spontaneous peace having this; mas maayos at masaya tayong lahat na nagtitipon dito at nagka sabot di ba?

Both Muslim and Christian bearing their names of their different religions in one roof that have the same purpose seeking peace and achieving it, congratulations po!
Marami kasi tayong gifts na bigay ng Panginoon lahat tayo binigyan niya pantay-pantay as we are all children of God.

Si Adonis at Brenda (Replace to Ali and Brenda)

Ali and Brenda are among the pupils of a remote multigrade school. At first their dreams were simply to finish elementary education so they will not end up cultivating and selling vegetables like most people they know. Now, Ali dreams of becoming an engineer and Brenda of becoming a teacher. There are hopes lingers to each of them.

In the cities, lack of interest and penchant for playing hooky and computer games are usually the culprits why pupils drop out of school, in far flung places like this poverty and far distances between homes and schools keep children away from school. But for Ali, these constrains are considered challenges to overcome. These children (Ali and Brenda) are pinning their hopes on having a bright future through education. Ali is the fifth child in a brood of 11. his parents, Abdullah and Nenita are both farmers.

Ali recalled that it was mot easy to finish elementary schooling.

So each school day, Ali would wake up at 4:00 a.m. to prepare his pack lunch. After taking a bath, he started hiking at 5:30. it would take him two hours to reach his school.
Because walking is the usual fare for Ali and most of his classmates, they judged distances in a unique way. to them, a place was far if it was not visible with  naked eye, otherwise it was considered near, even if they had  to hike it two hours to reach the place.
Ali has now set his sights on a higher goal after finishing elementary. Not even the difficulties he had gone through and those he would likely to face in the future can deter him to aspire for higher education.
“Ngayon, gusto ko nang makatapos ng haiskul. Tapos, mag-aaral pa ako. Gusto kong maging mechanical engineer. Ali believes he can achieved his ambition.

“Marami akong natutunan dito sa prep-school. Magagaling magturo ang mga titser namin. Saka, palagi nila kaming pinaaalahang mag-aral nag mabuti at magtapos ng kurso.” Ali said.

Brenda Dapyawen has her own story to tell.
Unlike Ali, Brenda lives near the school. Two of her five siblings are also studying at the same school. Two of her five siblings are also studying at the same school. Her Father Mario, 36, is a jeepney driver while her mother, Leonarda, 30, is a vegetable vendor.
Gusto kong maging kagaya niya,” she said.

To achieve her dreams, Brenda uses wisely the time she saves by not having to walk for hours like her classmates.

Brenda is also aware that the work of a teacher especially a multi-grade one, is difficult.

Their Prep-School and Multi-grade Demo School has affected the lives of Ali and Brenda in different yet similar ways – the school has given them both the hope to achieve their dreams. ( Asian Institute of Journalism and Communication)

Isa ko pong dream ang mayroong katulad nito na paaralan sa amin sa Iligan..na magsasaad ng culture of peace and illustration to the adults that children can make peace in their simple ways by mingling their playmates with joy and compatibility. So, pwede pala tayo ding mga adults di ba?
